Check these 3 lines on your gold receipt before paying
Every gold receipt in the UAE should show three things: the karat and hallmark, the net gold weight with the per-gram rate, and the making charge as its own line with 5% VAT on gold plus making. Today's 22K rate is 462.75 AED a gram. Tourists, ask for the Planet tax-free tag to reclaim most of the VAT at the airport.
