Your magnet test proves nothing. Real gold isn't magnetic, so if a magnet sticks, it's not solid gold, or the clasp is steel. But gold-plated brass and tungsten don't stick either. So what works? Check the stamp, like nine-one-six for 22 karat. Ask for an acid or electronic tester. And get an invoice from a registered shop. Have you ever tried the magnet test?
